I have not long returned from a new circuit for myself, Snetterton where I spent Friday through to Sunday at the 2CV 24 hour race event!

My day started on the Friday at 4pm to sign on for the event and had some lovely dinner before the brief and heading to post for the circuit action to start at 18:25 for practice session followed by night qualifying which was completed by 22:00!

For the full weekend, I was a flag marshal and also operating the flag light box which was great to learn for the first time.

The day was definitely had some action including a car roll over infront of us and a full stop of the session, luckly the driver was OK! Along with plenty of times of rain which made it more intresting!

After this I got some sleep and headed back to the track on the Saturday for 7am to have breakfast and sign on to find out where my posts would be for the day along with my duty times.

Up until 5pm, there was smaller races along with practice and day qualifying sessions for thr 2CV Race.

I was on a 2 hour break during the start of the race but I was able to see it while having plenty of coffee!

I was then back on post for 2 hours, where during the race there was plenty to see, with cars pulling over to stop and having to get the safety car out!

After this from 9pm until 3am, it was a rest break for the 6 hours. I tried and failed to get sleep in my car during the rest time, but just could not get any sleep at all sadly as much as I did try.

Before I knew it, it was time to get back to my new post for a 6 hour duty which definitely was intesting in the dark until it was daylight. We had 3 occasions when cars had to come to a stop and be rescued so the safety car had to come out each time.

After what felt like a fast 6 hours and feeling very tired, I then had another rest in my car but again just couldnt get any sleep.

After 4 hours break, food and coffee (a few!) I was more awake again and ready to go to my post for the final 4 hours of the race.

It was a bit less eventful to end the race, but was good all the same.

Before I knew it, it reached 5pm and as we were the last post before the pits, I was waving the yellow flag and wave at the drivers as they entered the pits for the final time!

Despite the lack of the sleep, it waa a brilliant experience, plenty of learning and all round great fun.

I worked with brilliant people who let me learn and talked me through what to do and it made for a enjoyable experience!

From a red flag, plenty of safety car deployments and plenty of times to use the blue flag, I definitely have been building in my experience for flags and the flag light box!

Would I do the 24 hour race again,? definitely!
